Salisbury Bowling Club provides coaching for beginners, club bowlers and juniors up to the age of 18.
Each individual is different and a Coach can help with all aspects of the game as individuals develop their skills and knowledge.
Safeguarding, Home Office and N.S.P.C.C. guidelines are practiced to ensure the safety and protection of children and vulnerable people.
There are several bowls coaching schemes. Our coaches are totally dedicated to providing the best opportunity for bowlers to learn and improve their game so they may enjoy and play it to the best of their ability.
Our Lead Coach is Gerry Ward who is Coach Bowls Level 2 certified; Neil Gillespie is Coach Bowls Level 1 certified. Our Foundation Coaches (level 1) are accredited by the English Bowls Coaching Scheme (EBCS) to instruct beginners. They are John Hurle and Valerie Botting.
Coach Bowls is the comprehensive coaching system developed originally by the Bowls Development Alliance (BDA) on behalf of Bowls England and the English Indoor Bowling Association Ltd to meet the needs of players and coaches at all levels. It is the only organisation to coach bowls for Flat Green, Crown Green and Short Mat Bowls, which results in a qualification.. There are currently three levels of qualification. These qualifications are externally accredited, nationally recognised and sit within the National Qualification Framework.
The English Bowls Coaches Society (formerly known as the English Bowls Coaching Scheme) provides coaching accreditation resulting in a certificate; it is a Society for Bowls coaches and coaching matters only.
